When Father and Mother, spirit (or Reality) and illusion (or maya), Brahma (or Purusha) and Prakriti (or Nature) join, their union produces the Son. In the Christian scheme they give the spiritual or primordial Son the name of Christos; in the Egyptian scheme Osiris and Isis (or her twin sister Nephthys - the more recondite side of Isis) produce their son Horus, the spiritual Sun, physically the Sun or the Light-Bringer; and so similarly in the different schemes that the ancient world has handed down to us. (Slightly abbreviated from De Purucker's Fundamentals of the esoteric philosophy)

Gnosis research

Dedicated to the research of myth, symbol, and religion, and development of a philosophy of wholeness

It is a little known fact that the ancient Wisdom, under whatever name it is known, contains transformative practices. Better known, perhaps, is the fact that it contains an ethical part, or philosophy of moral conduct.

In my article on the human being I describe a Pythagorean meditation, and how to use the power of the mind to change the pattern of your life. You can find that article here. Especially see sections three and four.
It also answers questions such as "What is a human being?", "What is the potential, purpose, and role of the human being?"
It includes invaluable directions for changing your thought-pattern, and hence your pattern of life.
